Bad Eating Week
By Thomas | February 16, 2008
This week I didn’t eat so well. Maybe I got overconfident with my large lead in the contest, maybe I subconsciously felt I was losing weight too fast or maybe I was just weak-willed this week - but for whatever reason, I ate like a pig.
First, on Monday I made Swedish pancakes for breakfast. The recipe calls for 6 eggs, 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, a little butter and lingonberry preserves. I ate half of them and my wife ate the other half.

Then Valentine’s Day rolls around and my wife baked me a chocolate apple cake. It was awesome. I also got some little chocolates (I didn’t eat them all, but I ate some).

Today was a nightmare. We went to the mall and I ended up eating a double scoop waffle cone from Baskin Robbins. Then we had tacos for dinner and I ate 6 of them. Six tacos was the portion size I used to eat before I started losing weight!
I hope the scale is nice to me tomorrow morning.

A Terrible Week Of Eating | Two Fat Brothers.com…
What do Swedish Pancakes, Chocolate Apple Cake, a double-scoop waffle cone from Baskin Robbins and six enormous tacos have in common? They are all things I ate this week, despite being on a diet in competition with my brother. Official weigh-ins are …

No worries. Happens to the best of us. Tomorrow’s another day. Another egg-free, cake-free, ice cream-free, taco-free day. Maybe wait a day before you get on that scale!

@Kathy: Yes, tomorrow is another day, because today I ate Swedish pancakes again! :). My weigh-in this morning was actually better than average despite my bad week in terms of food. I think my secret weapon is going to allow me to be more lax with my diet (although I still want to control what I put in my body). This next week I’m going to eat healthy all week.

Weight loss is about perseverance, not willpower or perfection. Keep on pushing Thomas.

@Dr. Kal: Thanks for the encouragement! You are right that perserverance is key, although I think that willpower is a part of it too: at least at first when you are aiming to change your long-ingrained bad habits. Once you get the new healthier habit formed though, I think willpower recedes in importance.
I’m going to keep on pushing!

I adore Swedish Pancakes! I don’t blame you for indulging every once in a while. Just get back on track, you get a clean slate every day!
