Back To Work
By Thomas | January 12, 2008
The second week of the competition is nearing its end. I have a slight head start, but I don’t think anyone expects me to lose 6 lbs every week.
This week my New Years holiday ended and I went back to work. This means that although I can stay faithful to my diet, I don’t have as much time to workout. Having an infant at home doesn’t make jogging or hiking easy either. I found a way to workout at home (more on that after weigh-ins) and I’m hoping to work something out to where I can get in a good sweat at work. I have to figure out how to ask for permission to do it in Japanese first though.
Yesterday I took my first “day off” from exercise. Many of my upper-body muscles were extremely sore so I had to take a breather. I haven’t worked out my upper body since college and the rust doesn’t come off easy.
Today is Saturday, so to make up for slacking yesterday, I did double time in the mountains. I think I’m really getting in shape because I wasn’t all that tired when I finished. I’m going to chalk that one up to my weekday workout routine as well (again, I’ll write about that later).
I’ve been weighing myself twice a day (once in the morning and once after my workout) and the weight keeps going down day after day. After today’s excursion I’m eager to see what it will read tomorrow for official weigh-ins. See you then!
